FLOATING MARKET DAMNOEK SADUAK BANGKOK
When I explored Bangkok, mostly I took public transportation. This time, I joined a tour group to visit the floating market near Bangkok.
I visited the world famous floating market, Damnoen Saduak. Situated in Ratchaburi province, about 100 kilometers from Bangkok. The market is open every day from morning until 11:00 am. The market is crowded with the sellers who trade by bartering crops from their small boats.
Besides buying and selling crops, many souvenir vendors sold t-shirts, necklaces, bags and much more. After explored around the market by boat, the guide gave time to go explore the market.
Thailand is famous for its traditional food. I walked parts of the non floating market. I tempted to taste every single kind of food. Porridge, noodle soup or fried snacks sellers until the mixed rice food seller. It smelled delicious. Also, there was a sticky rice snack served with sliced mango. Unfortunately, time was so limited, I had to hurry.
This floating market has changed a lot, more for tourist consumption. It used to be one of the ancient culture with the exchange of crops on the river.
