LAST MOMENT AT THE NEW YORK CITY

We left home in the morning to New York.

My friend took me to Manhattan for the last time. We did not often go to New York. Often we got bad weathers at the weekends (oddly week days the weather was nice). If not, one of us got sick. I’ve been to New York in 2010, so it did not matter if I did not go there again. If I can go, I prefer to see places I’ve never seen.

We were up in Manhattan around 11:00 am. Although it was difficult (like looking for a needle in a haystack) we found free parking. The weather was cold and windy. No problem. I’m used to it now and ready with layers of clothing.

Initially, we went to Uniqlo Store just wanted to go to the restroom but I ended up spending the time to buy a winter jacket. I learned a lot during my winter in The Hamptons. I aimed to get the warmest and lightest jacket.

Grand Central Station

I heard a lot about this train station. Officially called Grand Central Terminal but the people are calling it Grand Central Station. The station has a beautiful facade.

High ceilings with unique carvings. Unfortunately, the light is yellow, very hard to take good pictures.

The Main Concourse is the center of Grand Central. Grand Central is one of the busiest train stations in the world.

Station has enormous spaces with crafted detail, especially on its facade.

The High Line Park

Construction began in 2006 using the railway line which is not used anymore. We parked the car at the 55th street and walked to the 30th street. My friend took a stroller but the lift closed during the winter. She asked me to go alone.

Now I know why most of facilities on this park is closed during the winter. All the plants die or tree leaves were falling. For some reasons, tent covered most of the pedestrian paths.
