We went to Aachen on summer weekends. The weather was sunny and blue sky tinged with white clouds. The trip to Aachen more and less than 2 hours.
One of the German country towns which lie on the border between the three countries Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Aachen is known as Aix-la-Chapelle in France and Aken in the Netherlands.
Better known as a spa town in North Rhine-Westphalia. Aachen means “water” or “stream” which refers to the springs. Aachen has a warm mineral springs attracted the attention of people since 5000 years ago. The source of water comes from the volcano Eifel with the hottest springs north of the Alps. Many places of historic baths and hotels throughout the city of Aachen.
The city is also famous because of RWTH Aachen University. One German university who have outstanding contributions to the electrical and mechanical engineering, computer science, physics, and chemistry.
Aachen is a great city but we just went to the old town. The Old Town famous for its history as medieval buildings, the city gate, and beautiful fountains. We do a lot of looking at the fountain with a variety of designs.
Everywhere we witnessed the cultural heritage and fascinating history of the past. The beauty and heritage of the old city are revealed when we walked slowly from one side of town to the other.
